Ridgecrest PTA Needs You!
The Ridgecrest Elementary PTA is vital to the success of our school. We provide a majority of the functions and funding for programs that take place at Ridgecrest. What would Ridgecrest be like without the PTA? For starters, there would be no t-shirts, auction dinners, workshops, skating parties, teacher grants, iPad lounge, and more.
You can help keep these programs going by volunteering to serve on next year's board. Christina Ottersbach, our president, will be stepping down to become vice president. She is seeking a president with which she can partner, advise and help shape into a fabulous president.
We will also have other positions open, like vice presidents of membership and programs; secretary; t-shirts; hospitality; newsletter; and more. We have positions to fit many different types of schedules and needs...you can even do some jobs from home.
If you are interested, please email Christina at email@example.com with your skills and needs for participation, and I will find a way that you can help out. We will be holding a PTA Open House toward the end of April so you can learn more from those who currently hold positions.
Preparing for FCAT
Now that the Winter holidays are behind us, it is time to focus on the FCAT test. The first students to take the FCAT will be those in Grade 4. FCAT Writing is currently scheduled for the week of Feb. 24. The remainder of the FCAT testing is scheduled for the weeks of April 21, April 28 and May 5.
Parents and teachers can take advantage of several resources to help students prepare for these tests:
- FCAT Explorer
- PCSB Posted resources
Practice makes perfect, so start now and make it part of your weekly routine.
